SEOPress PRO Review (2026): Free vs Pro, AI & Pricing

SEOPress PRO is the paid edition of SEOPress, a WordPress SEO plugin that combines metadata, sitemaps, schema, redirects, WooCommerce SEO, local SEO, analytics integrations, site auditing and AI-assisted workflows in one interface.

Updated September 2026: SEOPress is now in its 10.x generation. The current changelog lists version 10.2.1, released September 8, 2026. Recent releases have significantly expanded the product with an in-editor AI Assistant, a unified Site Audit, WordPress Abilities API support, improved redirects, richer WooCommerce schema and tools designed to make WordPress sites easier to work with from AI and automation clients.

What is SEOPress PRO?

SEOPress has a capable free edition, while PRO adds the features needed for more technical, ecommerce, local and agency-oriented SEO work. You can keep the same core plugin workflow and unlock advanced modules rather than moving to a completely different product.

That makes it particularly attractive for agencies, developers and site owners who want metadata, schema, redirects, audits, ecommerce SEO and analytics tools managed from one WordPress plugin.

SEOPress Free vs PRO

What SEOPress Free includes

  • Custom SEO titles and meta descriptions.
  • Google search-result previews.
  • Canonical URLs and meta robots controls.
  • XML and HTML sitemaps.
  • Content analysis and target keywords.
  • Social metadata for Facebook and X.
  • Migration tools from other SEO plugins.
  • Integration with popular page builders and multilingual plugins.

For a straightforward content site, the Free version can cover the essentials. It does not artificially limit the number of sites on which the free plugin can be installed.

What SEOPress PRO adds

  • Site Audit for centralized technical and content checks.
  • AI integration for metadata, image alt text and editor assistance.
  • Automatic and manual structured data with advanced schema controls.
  • Redirect manager and 404 monitoring, including regex and conditional redirects.
  • Broken-link scanning and link-management tools.
  • WooCommerce and Easy Digital Downloads SEO.
  • Local SEO and Local Business schema tools.
  • Google News and video XML sitemaps.
  • Breadcrumbs and deeper robots.txt / .htaccess controls.
  • Analytics stats in the WordPress dashboard.
  • White-label options, particularly useful for agencies.

Titles, descriptions and content analysis

SEOPress handles the standard WordPress SEO tasks well: you can define global title and description templates, override them on individual posts, set canonicals and indexing directives, and preview how a page may appear in Google.

SEOPress title and meta description editor

The content-analysis tools check elements such as headings, metadata, keyword use and content structure. In 2026 SEOPress expanded these checks to include content depth, readability and media usage, and integrated more of them into the Site Audit.

SEOPress Site Audit

One of the most important additions to PRO is the Site Audit. Instead of reviewing SEO settings one post at a time, the audit gives you a unified view of technical and content issues across the site.

Recent versions added richer technical checks, content-quality checks, filtering, search and sorting. This makes SEOPress more useful for ongoing maintenance, not just initial metadata configuration.

AI features in SEOPress PRO

SEOPress PRO now has a much deeper AI layer than earlier versions. You can connect your own provider, use SEOPress AI credits, generate titles and descriptions, create image alt text and use the in-editor AI Assistant for broader writing and SEO tasks.

Supported providers currently include OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, DeepSeek and Mistral AI. Using your own provider generally means you pay that provider directly rather than paying SEOPress an extra AI surcharge.

We see these features as productivity tools rather than a substitute for editorial judgment. Automatically generated metadata is useful at scale, but high-value pages should still be reviewed by a person who understands search intent and the business.

WordPress Abilities API and AI-agent readiness

SEOPress 10 also became more interesting for automation-heavy WordPress workflows. On WordPress 7 and later, SEOPress can register actions through the WordPress Abilities API so compatible tools can discover and perform defined SEO operations using normal WordPress permissions.

PRO can expose additional capabilities for tasks such as redirects, structured data and AI generation. SEOPress also offers an Agent Readiness feature that can publish discovery files such as /.well-known/mcp.json and llms.txt. These features are optional and should only be enabled when you actually intend to connect external tools.

Schema and structured data

Structured data is one of the stronger reasons to consider PRO. SEOPress supports automatic and manual schemas and has continued improving ecommerce schema in the 10.x releases.

For WooCommerce, recent updates added ProductGroup support for variable products, merchant return policies, sale-price data and better stock-status handling. Local Business schema can also be customized more deeply, including opening hours at the individual-post level for directories or multi-location sites.

Redirects, 404 monitoring and broken links

PRO includes a redirect manager supporting 301, 302, 307, 410 and 451 responses, plus regular expressions and conditional rules. It can monitor 404 hits and help turn recurring missing URLs into deliberate redirects.

SEOPress 10 also moved the redirects and 404 interface to a faster DataViews-based screen and added tools to test destination URLs directly from the WordPress dashboard.

The broken-link scanner serves a different purpose: it scans links in your content to identify destinations that no longer resolve correctly. That is useful for older blogs and sites with many outbound references.

WooCommerce SEO

WooCommerce SEO is included in PRO. Beyond titles and metadata, SEOPress adds ecommerce-oriented structured data and integrations with GA4 Enhanced Ecommerce.

For stores, the value is less about adding another SEO score and more about centralizing product schema, indexing rules, analytics and technical SEO controls in the same plugin.

Important: SEOPress Insights is a separate product

Our older review incorrectly grouped backlink monitoring and keyword rank tracking into SEOPress PRO. In the current product lineup, those features belong to SEOPress Insights, which is licensed separately.

Insights tracks keyword positions, competitors and backlinks inside WordPress. It can work on its own, without SEOPress Free or PRO. If you use both Insights and PRO, additional integrations such as importing keywords from Google Search Console become available.

This distinction matters when comparing costs. Do not buy PRO expecting daily keyword tracking and backlink monitoring to be included in the same license.

SEOPress PRO pricing in 2026

The current annual pricing published by SEOPress is:

  • $49/year for 1 site.
  • $59/year for 5 sites.
  • $149/year for unlimited sites.

Prices are listed before VAT and renew at the same published price. All PRO tiers currently include the main premium feature set, including AI integration, Site Audit, Local SEO, WooCommerce SEO, analytics stats, schema, News/video sitemaps, redirects and 404 monitoring, white label and email support.

Check the official SEOPress Free vs PRO page before purchasing, because prices and packaging can change.

SEOPress PRO strengths and limitations

Strengths

  • Broad technical SEO feature set in one plugin.
  • Strong schema, redirect, local and WooCommerce tools.
  • Agency-friendly white-label functionality.
  • Useful 5-site and unlimited-site licensing.
  • Rapid development around AI and WordPress-native automation APIs.
  • No advertising in the WordPress admin.

Limitations

  • The number of features can be unnecessary for a very simple site.
  • Rank tracking and backlink monitoring require the separate Insights product.
  • AI-generated content and metadata still need human review.
  • Advanced modules such as redirects, schema and robots controls can cause SEO problems if configured without understanding their effect.

Who should use SEOPress PRO?

SEOPress PRO makes the most sense for agencies, WooCommerce stores, local businesses, content-heavy sites and technically involved WordPress owners who want more than basic title and sitemap management.

If your site only needs titles, descriptions, canonicals and an XML sitemap, SEOPress Free may already be enough. If you need redirects, advanced schema, local SEO, WooCommerce features, audits, white labeling or AI-assisted workflows, PRO becomes much easier to justify.

Final thoughts

SEOPress PRO is a mature, technically broad WordPress SEO toolkit in 2026. Its strongest appeal is the combination of traditional SEO controls with newer auditing, AI and WordPress-native automation capabilities.

The 10.x releases are particularly significant because SEOPress is moving beyond a conventional SEO metabox toward workflows that can be automated or delegated through WordPress permissions and AI-compatible APIs.

That does not make every PRO feature necessary for every website. For simpler sites, Free remains capable. For stores, agencies and complex WordPress installations, PRO offers enough additional technical control to make the upgrade meaningful.
